HOW MUCH DO YOUR CUSTOM CAKES COST? 

Prices vary depending on size, detail, & complexity of your design. For custom cakes, we have a $150 minimum, which will serve up to 10 people.

ARE YOUR CAKES GOOD?

YES! Not only do they look good, they taste amazing. Our cakes are baked with love and experience with a drop of a southern twist. Also, they are freshly made... NO PRESERVATIVES added to give longer shelf life... NO FROZEN CAKES... Our cakes are custom made for you.

DO YOU SELL READY-MADE CAKES OR BASIC CAKES? 

Mix ‘n Sweetz is a custom cake bakery and is very well known for the over the top designs. Our custom cake are made to order. However, we do sell “Cakes On The Go”. So if you forget to place an order or if the celebration wasn’t planned you can grab one of our “Cakes On The Go”. These cakes are in our retail store case daily for unplanned events. “Cakes On The Go” cakes start at $60.  (Coming Soon)

DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN-FREE OR DIETARY CAKES? 

Unfortunately, at this time we do not. Maybe we will some time in the future. 

DO YOU DELIVER? 

Yes, we deliver within 3hrs of our bakery (servicing Maryland, DC., Virginia, Pennsylvania). *Minimum order for delivery is $100. Price of delivery is based on location. Contact us for further details or quote. 

DO YOU SHIP YOUR CAKES? 

Unfortunately, we do NOT ship cakes or cupcakes. However, we do ship our “Sweetz Treatz” like cakes ‘n a jar, banana pudding ‘n a jar, cheesecake ‘n a jar, rum cake, cookies, and My Snickerdoodle Cookie Cupcake. 


HOW MUCH ARE CAKE TASTINGS, AND WHAT DO IT COVER?

The fee for all tastings is $50, which has to be satisfied before scheduling your appointment. Your payment will be applied to your tasting. You can choose up to 4 flavors for your tasting. Note: cupcakes are served at all tastings. Some cupcakes will also be given to take home to share with family. 

We also recommend that you bring in any pictures, invitations, etc., that may help us come up with something perfect for your event. 

HOW CAN I PLACE A ORDER? 

We have 3 ways for you to place your order!

Things needed for a quote:  ALL the details regarding your event. (Date, time, theme, colors, flavors, amount of servings needed, and any ideas/pictures for reference.) ***Please notes all orders placed under 2 weeks will be subject to a rush fee.***

CAN I WALK-IN AND PURCHASE CUPCAKES? 

YES! Our hours of operation are Tuesday -Friday 11am-7pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, and CLOSED on Sunday & Monday. We have fresh baked cupcakes everyday for purchase. We have anywhere from 10-15 flavors including our cupcakes feature of the day/week.  You can also purchase daily our famous banana pudding, peach cobbler, cakes in a jar, cookie sandwiches etc. 

HOW MANY CUPCAKES DO I HAVE TO GET FOR A CUSTOM ORDER?

2 dozen cupcakes is the minimum for a custom order.

WHAT IS THE TURN AROUND TIME FOR SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME BACK REGARDING MY ORDER?

Please allow us 48 hours to review your request and get back with you. For faster service, stop by the shop where a designer can assist you on the spot. Hours of operation are listed here. (Hyperlink)

HOW EARLY SHOULD I PLACE MY CUSTOM CAKE ORDER? 

It depends. Your custom cake order should be placed as soon as you have finalized all of the details of your event (date, colors, theme, design, amount of servings, etc.) We do encourage early ordering of at least 2-4 weeks, as we usually book up weeks ahead.

Designs that include gum paste or fondant require a minimum of a 2 weeks notice, where as cakes with just buttercream designs would need only a few days depending on our availability. For wedding cakes or cakes that will be delivered (3 tiers or larger), we request 2-4 months notice so that we can secure your time slot on the delivery. 

CAN YOU MAKE CAKES FOR PICK UP THE NEXT DAY?

Yes, but it depends on our availability. With the exception for ordering Friday for pick up on Saturday.  Lastly, a rush fee is attached to all order placed under the 2 week notice.

WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT? 

We accept credit cards, PayPal, and cash. 

IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO PLACE AN ORDER? 

Yes. For standard, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your order. The remaining balance is due upon pick up or before. 

For orders placed over the phone, we require payment in full. 

For tiered wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes, we require a 25% deposit and the balance is due two weeks before the event. 


I WANT MY DEPOSIT REFUND BACK?

All deposits are non-refundable due to your event being added to our schedule. The deposit is to secure your date and there is no way to backfill the order if you decide to cancel.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY? 

If for some reason your order does not meet your satisfaction, please contact us at 202-525-0019  or info@mixnsweetz.com. 

All orders placed online for in-store pickup or delivery are final and non-refundable once the order is placed and you receive a confirmation of your order.

There is no exchange of baked goods once you have left the bakery with your purchase.

If you are not satisfied with an order, simply return the entire purchase for Store Credit.  If you choose not to return the product, store credit will not be given. Retainer Fees/Deposits/Payments made are non-refundable.  In the event of a cancelled party or any unforeseen situation, store credit will be issued ONLY after we have deducted any items already purchased for your order.  Note: If you cancel with less than 7 days notice, you may not qualify for store credit.

We currently do not offer shipping for cakes.

All orders placed will be subject to the following rules:

  1. Mix ‘n Sweetz Bakury does not issue refunds.  All deposits/retainer fees/payments towards an order is NON-REFUNDABLE.  In the event of a cancellation, store credit would be an option ONLY after calculations have been made determining product that was purchased for your specific order and then deducted.  However, based on when you cancel your order, if handmade product had already been started, you may not qualify for store credit either. Cupcake orders require 5 day notice of cancellation to be considered for store credit.  You may always ask, but please understand, that we reserve the right to refuse a request. 

  2. Mix ‘n Sweetz Bakury strongly enforces our NO CHANGES POLICY, once an order has been placed.  (This is critical in keeping with our organization system.)  You may not change any aspect of your order 10 days prior to the scheduled pick up/delivery date as dictated on your invoice for cakes. For cupcake orders, the cutoff time frame is 5 days.  If you have any elements to be provided for your order, they must be turned in by the dates discussed. You are responsible for ensuring accuracy on your invoice.  A Designer will be using the invoice as exact instructions while decorating.  Any conversation had about design, that are not specified on the invoice will not be seen by the Designer.  If any of the wording is not correct, advise us prior to making a payment.
